What is Firecode™

Firecode™ is a new model for managing passive fire compliance information throughout the life of a building.

It was developed from a simple observation: most passive fire compliance problems are not caused by a lack of inspections. They are caused by fragmented information. Inspection reports, penetration registers, photographs, product documentation, rectification records and technical decisions are often stored separately, making it difficult to understand the history of an individual asset or confidently assess its current condition.

Firecode™ addresses this problem by treating passive fire information as a connected system rather than a collection of independent documents.

Every asset has one identity. Every inspection contributes to its history. Every technical decision remains linked to the evidence that supports it.

The objective is not to replace professional judgement. The objective is to preserve it.

02

The Problem

Buildings change continuously.

Services are added. Contractors perform maintenance. Tenancies are refurbished. Defects are rectified. Equipment is upgraded. Documentation is revised. Staff move on. Digital files are archived or lost.

Over time, the technical history of a passive fire asset becomes increasingly fragmented.

A photograph may exist in one report. A product certificate may be stored elsewhere. A penetration register may not reflect later works. An inspection may identify a defect that is later rectified without any reliable connection between the two events.

The result is uncertainty.

Future inspections become more expensive. Building owners commission duplicate investigations. Contractors repeat work that has already been undertaken. Technical decisions rely on incomplete information rather than accumulated knowledge.

Firecode™ was conceived to solve this information problem.

03

One Asset. One History.

Firecode™ is founded on a simple principle.

One asset.

One history.

Every passive fire asset should have a single, continuous record that follows it throughout its lifecycle.

Inspection evidence, defect history, product information, photographs, maintenance activity, rectification records and verification outcomes should remain connected to the same asset rather than being distributed across independent reports and disconnected documents.

This approach preserves context.

Instead of asking, "Where is the latest report?", stakeholders can ask, "What is the history of this asset?"

04

Evidence Before Opinion

Technical conclusions should always be supported by evidence.

This principle guides every aspect of Christine Po's consulting practice and forms the foundation of Firecode™.

Inspection findings should be traceable to observations.

Recommendations should be traceable to requirements.

Compliance decisions should be traceable to evidence.

Where information is incomplete, uncertainty should be recorded rather than concealed.

Firecode™ is designed to preserve not only technical conclusions but also the reasoning that produced them.

Learn More

Firecode™ is currently being developed as the practical implementation of the compliance philosophy described throughout this website.

While Christine's consulting work focuses on independent technical advice, inspections, investigations and compliance reporting, Firecode™ extends those same principles into long-term lifecycle information management.

The platform is being designed to preserve inspection evidence, penetration registers, defect history, rectification records, verification outcomes and asset knowledge throughout the life of a building.
