Professional engagements may be undertaken independently or combined to support multiple stages of the Compliance Lifecycle established by CPS-001.

ENG-001 — Passive Fire Compliance Consulting

Purpose

Passive Fire Compliance Consulting provides independent professional advice to support informed decision-making regarding passive fire protection systems and building compliance obligations.

This engagement assists clients in understanding compliance requirements, evaluating available options and developing appropriate compliance strategies without assuming responsibility for implementation unless expressly agreed.

Professional Outcome

The intended outcome is improved compliance decision-making supported by objective technical advice and professional judgement.

Scope

This engagement may include professional advice relating to:

Purpose

Passive Fire Compliance Assessment determines and documents the condition and compliance status of passive fire protection systems within the defined scope of engagement.

The engagement establishes reliable compliance information to support informed decision-making and future compliance activities.

Professional Outcome

The intended outcome is the creation of an objective, evidence-based assessment of passive fire protection systems capable of supporting compliance management, remediation planning and future verification activities.

This engagement may include:

ENG-003 — Passive Fire Compliance Management

Purpose

Passive Fire Compliance Management provides independent professional oversight of passive fire remediation activities from the establishment of an approved scope through to the completion of agreed compliance outcomes.

The engagement exists to coordinate, monitor and verify the progression of remediation works while preserving professional independence, maintaining compliance records and supporting informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

The Professional Practice acts as the client's independent compliance representative and does not assume responsibility for the workmanship of contractors unless expressly engaged to undertake physical works.

Professional Outcome

The intended outcome is the successful delivery of a coordinated passive fire remediation project supported by objective evidence, transparent governance and complete compliance documentation.

The engagement seeks to achieve compliant outcomes rather than merely completed works.

Scope

Depending upon the agreed scope of engagement, Passive Fire Compliance Management may include:

  • review of compliance assessments;
  • confirmation of remediation scope;
  • development of remediation strategies;
  • contractor engagement support;
  • tender and quotation review;
  • technical clarification during construction;
  • project coordination;
  • stakeholder liaison;
  • progress monitoring;
  • management of Requests for Information (RFIs);

The Professional Practice shall:

The Building Owner remains responsible for the ongoing compliance of the building following project completion.

ENG-004 — Passive Fire Compliance Verification

Purpose

Passive Fire Compliance Verification provides an independent professional assessment of completed passive fire remediation works to determine whether the defined compliance requirements have been satisfied.

The engagement exists to verify compliance outcomes through objective evidence, technical assessment and documented professional judgement.

Compliance Verification is independent of the contractor undertaking the physical works and shall not be influenced by commercial or contractual interests.

Professional Outcome

The intended outcome is a technically defensible determination regarding the compliance status of completed passive fire remediation works.

Verification provides confidence that completed works have been assessed against the agreed compliance requirements and supporting evidence.

Scope

Depending upon the agreed scope of engagement, Passive Fire Compliance Verification may include:

  • review of completed remediation works;
  • site verification inspections;
  • review of contractor evidence;
  • review of product documentation;
  • review of installation records;
  • verification against agreed remediation scope;
  • verification against applicable standards and project requirements;
  • identification of outstanding non-conformances;
  • update of compliance records;

Where evidence is insufficient to support verification, the Professional Practice shall document the limitation rather than assume compliance.

ENG-005 — Digital Compliance Services

Purpose

Digital Compliance Services provide the digital infrastructure supporting the delivery, management and preservation of compliance information throughout the lifecycle of a professional engagement.

These services are delivered through Firecode and associated digital systems developed and maintained by the Professional Practice.

Digital Compliance Services enhance professional practice through structured information management, collaboration and traceability. They do not replace professional judgement.

Professional Outcome

The intended outcome is the creation and maintenance of reliable, structured and traceable digital compliance records that support professional decision-making throughout the lifecycle of an asset.

Digital Compliance Services improve transparency, accountability and information continuity between project participants.

Scope

Depending upon the agreed scope of engagement, Digital Compliance Services may include:

  • digital project administration;
  • compliance information management;
  • asset identification and registration;
  • digital compliance registers;
  • evidence management;
  • project collaboration;
  • document management;
  • workflow administration;
  • audit history;
  • lifecycle record management.

The scope shall be defined within the applicable proposal.

Professional Responsibilities

The Professional Practice shall:

The authority of all digital records derives from the Professional Standards governing the engagement and the evidence recorded within those systems.

ENG-006 — Professional Publications

Purpose

Professional Publications exist to develop, maintain and disseminate controlled knowledge that supports consistent professional practice, improves industry understanding and advances the quality of building compliance.

This engagement establishes the Professional Practice as the custodian of its own methodologies, standards and technical guidance.

Professional Publications support the consistent delivery of all other professional engagements undertaken by the Practice.

Professional Outcome

The intended outcome is the creation and maintenance of authoritative, controlled publications that improve professional consistency, support informed decision-making and preserve institutional knowledge.

Publications contribute to the continual development of the Professional Practice and the broader building compliance profession.

Scope

Depending upon the agreed scope, Professional Publications may include:

  • Professional Standards;
  • technical standards;
  • methodologies;
  • guidance documents;
  • technical papers;
  • research publications;
  • industry articles;
  • educational material;
  • reference documents;
  • technical position statements.

All publications shall be subject to document control in accordance with CPS-001.
